The Best Month of The Year.

February is my favorite month of the year.  It is in this month that I celebrate my birthday, and it is in this month that a special day, 14th February, is set aside to remember the significant other person in our lives.  

Since today is the day after Valentine's Day, I would like to focus on the person that has brought the most meaning to my life.  He is the reason that I wake up every morning and it is because of Him that I look forward to each day. He loves me more than I even deserve to be loved and He has given me everything I need.  He still loves me even when I make mistakes.  He thinks about me throughout the day in spite of my weaknesses.  He loves me the way I am.  I do not need to pretend to be something I am not, because He will always love me regardless.  In essence, His love is unconditional.  He never reminds me of the things I have done wrong or of any shortcomings I have.  I sing a love song to Him everyday, because He is so special to me.

 

 

Today

This is the fourth day of a new year.  I had not written any blogs for a while since my computer crashed. It is great to back.  This new year has brought mixed feelings.  There is a feeling of newness and anticipation for new things to happen.  Hopefully the new things will be all good.  However, so far there is a crisis which was created since the beginning of the year and I am hoping it will have a good resolution in the end for all parties concerned.  Meanwhile I am trying to enjoy the new year.  I hope to not worry, but be happy in spite of the circumstances I am currently facing.

  

 

In the end, it is important that we all hold on, instead of being depressed or giving up.

 

 

What's On Your Mind?

As we start a new month and the last quarter of the year, first I must say time has passed very quickly.  Those of us who made new year's resolutions had better ensure that they will accomplish all they set out to do for 2010, because it is almost time to think of the resolutions for 2011.  Regardless, we should be able to look back on the months, weeks and days we experienced in this year and praise the One who  made it possible for us to even breathe.  Thank You God.

So many things happened to me this year.  I lost a cousin and my finances went topsey turvey, but the long and short of it is that I am still alive and well.  I could not ask for anything more.  God has been good to me and my family.  I am more concerned for my aunt and uncle who are having health issues.  I hope they will be able to soon look back on these days and be thankful to God for causing them to be victorious.

This last quarter I plan to be organized especially in my finances.  I can do it and I will do it.  It starts with a thought, an action, a habit and strength of character will be built in the process.  I will become a better person by December 2010.  I will  acccomplish everything that I set out to do this year.  I have no other choice.  How about you?

 

Things We Should Forget

For the past nine years many of us internationally have made a decision to remember the tragedy that took place on American soil.  Each year I am reminded of the importance to forgive and forget while some are intentionally reliving the fear, hatred, anger and all the other emotions which were aroused as a result of what happened back then.  We are reminded by Jesus Christ to forgive and forget things that can cripple us emotionally and mentally.  Could it be that the nation is being crippled by the event by not putting things in proper prospective?

Our emphasis everyday of our lives should be to forgive those who hurt us in anyway.  Why do we emphasize the pain of the past?  Why do we not focus more on love and forgiveness?  It just seems as if every year we open a wound which started to heal, delaying the healing process with the hope that it would one day heal. 

This seems to be the choice we make in our everyday affairs.  We constantly remind ourselves of the evil we experience each day instead of the blessings God bestows upon us daily.  I choose today to worship God.  I choose to be thankful to Him for life and the good things that life has to offer. 

It is Paul the Apostle who reminds us to focus our minds on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of a good report.  He states we should think about things which encourage virtue and praise.  Today, like the other days of our lives, let us focus on forgiving those who have hurt us or our loved ones in any way.  The truth is they truly do not know what they have really done.   Jesus stated while He was being crucified on the cross "Father, forgive them for they know not what they have done" .  We need a heart like Jesus... a heart that forgives everyone no matter what they have done.

Hold On

This summer I experienced some of the most trying times I have ever experienced in my life.  It was a period of confusion and frustration.  I felt so helpless as I tried to find ways for my family and I to survive.  I knew what it was like to do without the basic necessities of life and to wonder if this period of hardship would ever end.

I am happy to say that not only did my family and I survive the summer, despite the grim period we experienced, but as we approach the last quarter of the year, things seem to be looking much much brighter.  What is the moral of the story?  Always hold on.  Never give up.  A change is coming, no matter how impossible the situation may seem.  

The Age of Technology

With technology we can accomplish many more things in a relatively short period of time. We can communicate with people internationally and create wonders. However, the most fascinating thing about technology is the fact that we can spread the good news of salvation through the internet and several other means. Thankfully language has also made this possible. What is the good news? Jesus Christ, the Son of God came into this world to die for all of us, so that if we believe in Him, when we die we do not have to suffer the penalty of all the wrong things we have done. I am eternally thankful to God and His Son Jesus Christ for the everlasting life that I have through Him. Thank You Lord and Shalom!

The Quiet Moment

Many people are experiencing a very difficult time in their lives now.  Stress seems to have reached extreme levels.  What we must always remember however, is that succumbing to stress does not help anyone or anything.  Sometimes it is best to just take the time to relax and literally not allow the problems, pressures or concerns to interfere with our peace of mind.

Listening to soothing music, reading a good book, focusing on an exciting exercise regime, indulging in the consumption of only healthy foods and drinks, playing indoor or outdoor games that are exhilarating, making the effort to admire a breathtaking scenery, taking the time to watch a good movie or to visit someone are some of the ways to relieve stress.  Whatever method is chosen, it may be helpful to remember that there is always a balance in life.  There may be challenges that will concern us, but there are always beautiful people and things around us that we can always enjoy.

In addition, stress does not last forever.  There are good times and there are bad times.  It is not easy to live with stress, but it is worth it.

Changes

Life has so many changes that within the last week it has been difficult to keep up with all the new things that are happening in my life.  We all go through changes.  Nothing in life is stagnant even though it may seem that way at times.  Everything must change.  We are reminded in the book of Ecclesiastes 3: 1    To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 

I think it is a good idea to enjoy the good things in life while we can.  Things can change for the worse without any warning, and we are tempted to yearn for the things we had when we no longer have the opportunity to enjoy them.  Life is wonderful and life is good.  We can perceive life to be like a glass of water ... to be half empty or half full... the choice is ours.  How do you perceive your life?

Life

Life has prizes and surprises.   There are disappointments as well as periods of elation and ecstasy.  In essence, nothing remains the same.  It may be great today, but tomorrow without any warning, things may begin to go downhill.  As the Bible declares, for everything there is a season.  Do not get too comfortable where you are right now, because change will come.  It is therefore important to prepare for change.

Life can be what we make it.  We can decide to enjoy it in spite of the things we experience.  Regardless, it is important to know that we may not have much power to change the circumstances that we face, but we do have the power to have the right attitude no matter what life brings.  Enjoy the good things in life.  They make life

Thankfulness

Even when things do not go the way we expect them to, the important thing to remember is that it could have been much worse.  There is always somebody worse off than us, and there are always more things to be thankful for than those that we complain about.  So as we live each day, we should make it a habit to list the things that we are thankful about.  We will find that there are unlimited things to list and no pen, paper or computer can actually contain or even store all those things.  The functioning of our bodies, the fact that we have food to eat, somewhere to sleep, a roof over our heads and clothes to wear proves that there is no reason to complain.  There are so many people in different parts of the world who do not know what it is like to have those things.

Even more important, we can be thankful that the Creator of the Universe chooses to bless us.  He showers us with gifts daily, and He does not demand that we pay Him for His goodness.  He calls Himself our Father and Friend.  We can be thankful that the Good God who created the universe is always looking out for us to  give us great gifts of love.
